The West Wing Xxx is a reunion special starring Aaron Sorkin, original West Wing director Thomas Schlamme and its cast reuniting actors such as Janney, Schiff, Sheen, Bradley Whitford and Mary McCormack; Lin-Manuel Miranda, Samuel L Jackson and Michelle Obama also make appearances during this fundraiser special for When We All Vote with staged episodes from cast members designed to encourage voters.

Although this episode may seem stagey at times, it remains an engaging watch. The dialogue is quick and intelligent while remaining entertaining at times; its message clearly communicated.

This season begins during President Bartlet’s first term and his senior staff are struggling to adapt. Following a few media blunders, however, the team comes together and begins making more headway on political issues that matter, including drug policy, abortion rights, terrorism threats, census issues, death penalties and electoral reform. This season focuses on topics like drug policy reform, abortion rights reform, death penalties reform as well as election reform.

Additionally, the show covered many personal issues as well. Certain episodes feature characters having affairs or dealing with the death of loved ones; other episodes feature characters being diagnosed with illness or facing difficult family situations.
