How to Evolve Eevee in the Pokemon Game

Eevee is one of the most beloved Pokemon characters, and with good reason. While other creatures in the franchise are inspired by real-world animals, Eevee stands out as being especially realistic; its variety of forms mimic actual evolution within animal kingdom. Furthermore, this makes Eevee an excellent teaching tool about biology for kids.

Motofumi Fujiwara created Eevee as part of his Pokemon creation process based on vague childhood memories of an unidentifiable creature found in nature. Though not visually lifelike (that distinction goes to Talonflame which resembles an orange Peregrine Falcon), Eevee has an alluring verisimilitude which goes far beyond mere appearance.

To evolve Eevee into its final form, you must earn 70 hearts by walking and playing with it using the buddy feature. Once this goal has been met, use 25 Eevee candy as promised to change it into Sylveon.

This adorable Evolution Pokemon features an ability known as Adaptability that enables it to boost the power of moves that share its same typing, or STAB, making it especially helpful when learning Normal-type attacks from Eevee before evolving it into Jolteon, Flareon or Umbreon. Take advantage of it while leveling up Eevee so it can develop its abilities before reaching its final stage!
