Big Ass Fans and PAWG’s r/Bigasses

The bright yellow statue of Big Ass Fans’ mascot, Fanny, greets visitors at the company’s Kentucky headquarters. But inside, the vibe is more akin to a Northern California startup than a midwestern manufacturing company. Employees are encouraged to explore new opportunities and develop their skills in an effort to build a better product, which is one of the reasons the company has become the market leader in smart home cooling devices, the chief executive officer said.

One of those products is a fan that can be controlled via a smartphone app. It can also be operated remotely. Big Ass Fans designed the device after learning that its customers wanted to control the temperature in their homes from anywhere they had an internet connection, said the CEO, who wouldn’t name the company. “We did a lot of research into the problem, and we decided that bipolar ions, which is what our fan uses, was a good solution,” he said.

r/Bigasses is a PAWG subreddit devoted to big booties. It has a membership number greater than 2 million, and is home to an endless selection of pictures of butts. While it has a few rules, the moderators are relatively relaxed in their approach to moderation—you’d have to be pretty damn dumb to get banned. The community is constantly growing, and a new submission pops up about every 100 hours. If you’re an asshole who loves big booties, this is the place to be.
