Yvie is an American drag queen, performer, fashion designer and rapper from Denver, Colorado who first gained international attention after winning RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 in 2019. In addition to having an engaging stage presence and impressive acrobatic skills, she’s known for creating otherworldly designs that break fashion standards and her exceptional lip syncing ability.
RuPaul’s All Stars 7 saw her make headlines again when she revealed she felt major chunks of her time spent in the Werk Room were edited out, leading her to describe their producers as having “lobotomised” her by cutting away from her struggles and frustrations. Season 11 winner Sheena will take to Instagram later in the night to express her discontent at what she perceives to be their censorship of her struggles and revealed this through an Instagram post shared to their official account.
In a follow-up video, Yvie revealed she had been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome – an incurable connective tissue disease which, according to its non-profit organization, can cause joint pain, easily bruised skin and poor wound healing.
RuPaul’s All Stars will feature Denver native Yvie as a “Lip-Sync Assassin” in their second episode airing Friday night, when Adore Delano challenges her with a photoshoot challenge. Yvie becomes the first regular-season winner ever featured as an All Stars Lip-Sync Assassin; additionally she currently appears on RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! as well.
